With its unique combination of café and bunkhouse, the business needed a brand and website that captured the calm, welcoming atmosphere of the location.

A calm coastal brand for a welcoming harbour destination

Our brief was to create a simple, recognisable identity and an easy-to-use website that would reflect the character of the harbour setting while helping visitors quickly find the information they needed.

Twilight Coffee & Bunkhouse required a brand that felt relaxed, memorable and closely connected to its coastal surroundings. Rather than focusing heavily on individual offerings such as coffee or accommodation, the goal was to create an identity that communicated the overall experience – a peaceful stop along the Antrim Coast where visitors could pause, stay and enjoy the view.

The website also needed to be straightforward and practical, helping customers quickly find key details such as location, booking options and contact information.

The branding process began by looking closely at the setting itself. Carnlough Harbour and the surrounding coastline provided inspiration for both the colour palette and the visual elements used throughout the identity. The result is a minimal and calming brand that reflects the tranquillity of the location while remaining clear and easy to recognise.

During the early design stages we explored a number of logo directions, including concepts that emphasised both the coffee and bunkhouse aspects of the business. Ultimately, the chosen design focused on atmosphere rather than specific products, creating a brand that feels welcoming, relaxed and well suited to the harbour environment.

To ensure the identity could work across different uses, a series of supporting brand elements were developed alongside the logo. Subtle wave motifs provide a recognisable background texture across marketing materials, while a house icon is used in contexts related to accommodation. These elements allow the brand to remain consistent while still adapting naturally to different applications.

The website design follows the same principles of clarity and simplicity. Built with mobile users in mind, the layout prioritises quick access to the information visitors most often need. Prominent quick-link buttons allow users to easily call the café, get directions or enquire about booking a stay. A simple online enquiry form also allows guests to request accommodation directly, creating a straightforward way for customers to interact with the business.

Together, the brand and website create a cohesive digital presence that reflects the relaxed atmosphere of Twilight Coffee & Bunkhouse while making it easy for visitors to discover and connect with this unique coastal destination.
