Outdoor Adventure Centre Website Design Northern Ireland

The Jungle NI

The Jungle NI is an outdoor adventure centre in Moneymore, in the Sperrins, offering activities, events, places to stay and group packages for families, schools, stag and hen parties and corporate teams. Its seasonal events, including Christmas Wonderland and Fright Night, have grown into well-known attractions in their own right.

A clearer path from browsing to booking

With a wide and growing mix of activities, events and accommodation, the aim was a new website that helps visitors find the right experience quickly and move on to book. The project ran alongside a wider update of The Jungle’s systems, including a new booking platform, so the site needed to fit in with other partners while staying simple for the team to manage day to day.

What’s better for visitors

  • Three clear starting points on the homepage: play, stay and events.
  • Activities can be filtered by age, group type and season.
  • Group pages written for each audience, from school trips to hen parties.
  • What’s on now always sits at the top of the events page.
  • Rewritten copy that gets to the point and answers common questions up front.
  • A clear route to booking, or a quick enquiry form for groups.

What’s easier for The Jungle team

  • Activities, events and accommodation are updated through simple fields.
  • Events tidy themselves away when they finish, and return next year at the same address.
  • The biggest events have their own look, with room to be creative.
  • Brochures and downloads can be added in a couple of clicks.

Visitors can now find the right experience in a few clicks. We built the site on WordPress, organised around how people actually plan a visit. The homepage leads with play, stay and events. Groups are split into adults, families, schools and youth, and corporate, so a teacher, a stag organiser and an HR manager each land on content meant for them. A dedicated activities page lets visitors filter by age, group type and season, so options are easy to compare in one place.

The words do more of the work too. We helped rewrite much of the site’s content, so pages get to the point, sound like The Jungle and answer the questions people usually phone about.

Adding or updating a page no longer needs a designer. Activity, event and accommodation pages run on structured templates. The team fills in simple fields, such as restrictions, booking links and button text, and the page lays itself out. Restrictions can be worded to suit each activity, whether that’s a minimum age or a height requirement. A downloads section appears only when a file is added, which suits brochures for schools and group packages. Every page follows the same clear pattern, while extra images and galleries can still be added where they help.

The events calendar now looks after itself. Each event keeps the same web address from year to year, and drops off the homepage and menus automatically once its finish date passes. Live events show first on the events page, with past events below. Dates can be marked as sold out. Where tickets aren’t on sale yet, a newsletter sign-up connected to The Jungle’s Mailchimp account takes the place of the booking button, so interest isn’t lost.

The biggest events now have pages that feel like the events themselves. Christmas Wonderland and Fright Night are two of The Jungle’s most important dates of the year, so we gave each its own standalone design. Working from a design and UX brief prepared by The Jungle team, we brought in each event’s logo, colours, typography and photography, while keeping them clearly part of The Jungle brand. These pages give the team more creative freedom where it matters most.

Getting from interest to booking is simpler. Booking runs on a separate system, so the site hands visitors over cleanly at the right point. For group bookings such as stag and hen parties and kids’ birthdays, enquiry forms replace the booking button and go straight to the bookings team. We worked closely with The Jungle’s marketing agency throughout, setting up the Meta Pixel, Google Analytics and Search Console, and structuring headings around event names and location to support SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). Content from the previous site was brought across, with redirects in place for existing pages.

The new site launched in October 2026. The Jungle now has a clearer, more consistent website that makes it easier for families, groups, schools and businesses to find what suits them, with its flagship events given the space to stand out. The team can manage activities, events and accommodation themselves, and with Google Analytics now in place, there’s a clear baseline to measure growth from.

Redback now hosts the site, and The Jungle is on an ongoing support contract. We’re continuing to work together on further improvements, including expanded schools and youth pages and dedicated designs for other events as their plans for the year take shape.
