Trench Farm previously operated its website using WooCommerce, but as the range of activities and events grew, the platform became difficult to manage. Each experience had different booking requirements, capacities and schedules, making it challenging to organise everything effectively within a standard ecommerce system.
The project therefore focused on creating a simpler and more flexible booking experience for both customers and the business itself.
A key part of the process involved researching and evaluating different booking platforms to find one capable of supporting the variety of experiences offered at the farm. After reviewing several options and meeting with different providers, we selected Beyonk, a booking system specifically designed for activity-based businesses.
Beyonk allows Trench Farm to manage multiple types of experiences from one platform, including events with limited capacities, accommodation bookings and scheduled activities such as alpaca walks. Integrating this system into the website created a much smoother booking process while giving the farm team better control over availability and scheduling.
The visual design of the website was developed to reflect the friendly and relaxed atmosphere of the farm. Instead of a clinical or corporate appearance, the site uses warm natural tones including creams, greens and soft yellows inspired by the surrounding countryside.
Illustrative elements and subtle wavy graphics help add personality and movement to the design, while a hand-drawn style brush font reinforces the family-oriented and informal feel of the brand.
The layout avoids heavy use of pure white backgrounds, helping the overall design feel softer and more natural. This approach supports the idea that Trench Farm is not just a booking platform, but a welcoming rural destination where visitors can enjoy a range of unique experiences.
Since launching the new platform, the website has played an important role in supporting the farm’s growth. By simplifying the booking process and clearly presenting the wide variety of activities available, the site has helped the business continue to increase revenue year after year while maintaining a friendly and accessible online presence.
